Cultivating Resilience: A Journey from Local Roots to a Sustainable Future for Teton Communities

The Jackson EcoFair germinated over two decades ago as a grassroots initiative focused on simple mountain living. What began as a modest gathering at the Murie Center in Grand Teton National Park, sharing seeds and solar tips, has evolved into the region’s premier showcase for sustainable innovation. For years EcoFair has provided a platform for local businesses, organizations, and individuals to showcase sustainability initiatives against a backdrop of live music, local food and beverage, and hands-on workshops that celebrate our heritage of stewardship. Our history is woven into the very fabric of Jackson Hole—a legacy of honoring and protecting the wild ecosystem that sustains us.

Looking toward the future, we envision an EcoFair that will serve as a beacon for carbon-neutral community living. We see a future where every booth registration supports local green enterprise and every workshop empowers a home to be more efficient. By integrating artisanal craftsmanship with modern ecological science, we will continue to mold how we inhabit the Teton ecosystem. Our goal is to inspire a lifestyle that is as breathtaking as the peaks themselves—sustainable, vibrant, and deeply connected to the land.

Event host Energy Conservation Works (ECW) works towards this goal every day as they lead and engage with the community to make energy efficiency and renewable energy accessible and affordable.

  • While EcoFair is a free event, your suggested $5 donation goes a long way to support simple and sustainable living in the Tetons.

  • Please support our local vendors! Consider buying lunch, a beverage, or a holiday gift for your great aunt Carol that you can stash away in the closet until winter.

  • Bring your kids! EcoFair is for everyone, and kids will have the opportunity to practice bear spray skills, create upcycled art, dress as a banana, or learn how solar power works.

  • Ride your bike or take public transportation! VIP bike parking is available, and bike techs are on site to give your trusty steed a once-over to make sure it will get you home safely.

  • Sign up for workshops in advance! Workshop opportunities will be posted a month in advance of the event – while day-of registration may be available, it’s not guaranteed.

  • Consider volunteering! Events such as EcoFair could not exist without dedicated volunteers. This is your opportunity to connect with your community, support local small businesses, learn a little bit our event production on a zero waste model, and maybe even haul some recycling. It’s fun!

  • Tell us what you think. We love feedback, and if you have ideas for our event, share them!
